Program Tracks

Pre-School Chinese

3:45 - 4:45pm

For 3-5 year olds.

This one hour class is geared towards pre-school aged kids. It's a fun parent and me introduction into Mandarin.

This class takes place after our normal language classes. Parents must attend with child.

Heritage Level Classes (HLC)

1:30 - 3:45pm

For 5+ year olds.

Our Heritage Level classes are best suited for students with a strong basis of the language.

Designed for native speakers and listeners, the classes are mostly conducted in Mandarin and Zhuyin.

 

Levels: Zhuyin, Level 1-6, Level 9​

Chinese Foreign Language (CFL)
 
1:30 - 3:45pm

For 5+ year olds.

 

Chinese as Foreign Language (CFL) is built around students who are learning it as a second language. 

 

Mandarin and Pinyin are taught in these classes. Know some or none? We'll find the right level for you.

Levels: CFL 1-3

Adult Conversation Classes
1:30 - 3:45pm

For ages 18+.

For adults wanting to learn basic conversation and pinyin reading, check out this course!

Extracurriculars

Immerse yourself in a cultural activity after language class.

1-hour class from 3:45 - 4:45 PM after language classes end. Chinese Yo-Yo 扯鈴, Go Board Game 圍棋, Taekwondo 跆拳道, and Fusion Dance 融合舞蹈

Immerse yourself in the dynamic world of Mandarin Chinese with our diverse class schedule designed for all ages and proficiency levels. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced learner, our instructors are here to help you improve your language skills and cultural understanding.

Curriculum

Our learning materials are ordered through Taipei Economic & Cultural Office. Chinese Heritage classes use textbooks 美洲華語 MeiZhou, Chinese Foreign Language classes use textbooks 學華語向前走 Let's Learn Chinese.

School Year

There are two semesters a year – Fall and Spring. Classes take place on Sundays from 1:30-3:45pm.

There is no summer semester.

Tuition 

Cost per semester

Language Classes: $200

+ Supply Fee: $20/family
Extracurriculars: $70
Preschool Class: $100

Cultural Activities

Extracurricular activities are a 1-hour class from 3:45 - 4:45 PM after language classes end. This year we offer Chinese Yo-Yo 扯鈴, Go Board Game 圍棋, Taekwondo 跆拳道, and Fusion Dance 融合舞蹈.

Our students then have an opportunity to perform at events around Kansas City, such as Nelson Atkins' Lunar New Year celebrations.

How to Get Involved

The Parent Teacher Committee (PTC) invites you to join PTC events, check out a meeting, meet fellow parents, and volunteer where you can. We believe that we can achieve this together.

Our Organization

We are a 501(c) non-profit organization. Our school depends on the efforts of our parents and staff volunteers.

Through the school year, we also hold fundraisers to keep the school running.

Our Staff & Board

The members of the Board supervise the school administration and decide major policies. The admin staff also manages the routine operations and is formed by parent volunteers. If you would like to join the board, please find one of us at school.
